Branded Bites: North Italia (Plano, TX)

Legacy West is an outdoor shopping center that opened in early June and is home to several designer clothing boutiques and popular restaurants. One particular restaurant that caught my eye out of all of the restaurants was North Italia.

Italian food is one of the most universally appreciated foods because it's simple yet filling. It's easy to make Italian food - I do it all the time with Pasta-roni. However, to make Italian food stand out from the rest, it needs to be truly spectacular. North Italia had to prove that it wasn't going to get lost in the mix.

While the ambiance of the restaurant gives off the impression of a semi-

casual lunch or dinner spot, the service made each patron feel like they were in a Michelin star-caliber venue. The knowledge that our waiter had showed when talking about the highlights of the menu showed more than good training; our water was genuinely eager to share her favorites with us and give a lot of detail as to why she likes each one. I was in a great mood after this: the first impression has been set.

We ordered the Chef's Board to start us off. The presentation of this dish was impressive-meats, cheeses, breads, and fruits were all particularly placed on a wooden board with an obvious attention to the color

scheme. And it tasted fantastic! My palate could not have been happier. The different textures and the contrasting tastes (one bite is sweet and the next is starchy) made for an unforgettable experience. This is a must-have if coming here even if you're not in the mood for an appetizer. (Photo by Plano profile)

For the main course, I ordered a Chicken Pesto pasta. It was a good pasta, but wasn't anything spectacular. In fact, it seemed a little too salty for my taste. I would order it again if I came back, but this wasn't the highlight of my experience here.

North Italia did an amazing job of creating a casual to semi-casual restaurant setting in a shopping complex that might give off a somewhat pretentious vibe. The people at North Italia made the experience wonderful, and have made themselves different than "just another Italian restaurant".
