Outlook for Autumn

As a busy summer comes to a close, it's time for a new school year to begin. I'm looking forward to this coming semester. It's going to be filled with several challenges, mostly academically. But I'm certain that it'll be continually growing into a better scholar and citizen.

This is going to be my first semester taking only Electrical Engineering courses. In the past I've had some computer science, economics, nonprofit management, and film courses to supplement my Electrical Engineering curriculum. There are going to be a lot of late nights doing weird physics and chemistry problems. But I'm glad to be at a small school where I know most of the people in my classes and we'll likely create study groups to get through our classes together.

While school is going to take up almost all of my time, I hope to continue growing in my role as a philanthropist. I will be working with organizations like the Communities Foundations of Texas to learn more about how to be an effective leader in the philanthropic community. And as always, I will continue my support of organizations like TangoTab and Genesis Women's Shelter and the work they do with hunger and domestic violence respectively.

I also hope to continue my work as a community advocate by supporting candidates for public offices who I think will benefit their constituencies the most. This is going to involve a lot of work getting people registered to vote and getting them to the polls in November. Our government is in a weird place right now, and it's important that we have strong representatives to help us get back on track.

This next semester is going to be extremely busy. But I'm optimistic because when I'm at my busiest, I'm at my best.
